Iron Church is reborn. The AI personal trainer I have been building for the past year has been rebuilt from the ground up. Same coach, same training, and every screen redrawn to be cleaner, calmer and quicker to read between sets. It is live now on the web and on iPhone.

What is Iron Church Reborn?
Reborn is the new Iron Church. The engine underneath is the same: the plans, the load progression, the fatigue tracking and Brodin, the openly-AI coach who writes and runs your training. What changed is everything you see and touch. Five surfaces hold the whole app, Body, Plan, Today, Records and the Temple, and you swipe between them the way you would flip through photos. If you already train with Iron Church, your plans, rites, records and honours came straight across. There is nothing to set up.
What is new in Reborn?
- Five surfaces, one swipe apart. Today shows the rite waiting for you and how fresh you are. Plan lays out your block week by week. Body reads your muscles and your weigh-ins. Records keeps your lifts and honours. The Temple is the congregation.
- Brodin, one tap from every screen. Each surface has its own door into the Commune, his conversation, and he arrives already knowing what you were looking at: today’s rite, this week’s plan, your body’s read.
- The live rite, redrawn. Your movements and sets, with his cue, the demo clip, swaps and the plate calculator a tap away.
- The Forge, rebuilt. Build your own block day by day, and Brodin reviews it before you commit.
- A new welcome. Adding a disciple starts with Brodin’s questions, and his word on each answer opens the next.
- A recovery rite when you need one. Take a light session any day. It is a one-off, so your plan stays exactly where it was.
- Safer by default. Anything that deletes, replaces or resets your work now asks first, and Brodin’s AI is only ever asked with your consent.
What does Brodin actually do?
Brodin writes your four-week block for your discipline, the kit you own and the days you can train, and code checks the plan before you see it. Each session’s weights come from how the last one went: heavier when you had it, the same weight and one more rep when you ground it out. A quick check of your sleep, energy and stress lightens a session after a rough night. At the end of each week five fatigue signals decide whether your lighter week comes early or the block runs on. He counts every set against the muscles it trains, turns every set into an estimated max, and talks it through with you in the Commune, having read your log first. Changes to your written plan only happen when you tap yes.
The new homepage lays out all thirteen of his jobs, each with how it works: Meet your coach.
Is there real science behind it?
Where there is published work behind an idea, Iron Church uses it and says so. Estimated maxes use three published formulas, each where it is most accurate: Brzycki (1993), Epley (1985) and Mayhew and colleagues (1992). Loading by how hard your sets felt follows the research on effort and reps in reserve (Zourdos and colleagues, 2016; Helms and colleagues, 2016). The daily check-in rests on the finding that how athletes say they feel tracks their training response well (Saw, Main and Gastin, 2016). Weekly sets per muscle follow the dose-response work on training volume (Schoenfeld, Ogborn and Krieger, 2017) and Renaissance Periodization’s volume landmarks. Easing back after time off reflects the research on detraining (Mujika and Padilla, 2000).
Just as plainly: where the numbers are Brodin’s own coaching judgement, such as the step sizes between sessions, the weightings on the check-in and where the fatigue lines sit, the app says that too. A large language model does the writing and the talking. Code does the counting.
Do I lose my plans or records?
No. Reborn is a new design over the same account. Your plans, rites, records, honours, rank and every disciple on your account carry straight across.
Where can I get Iron Church Reborn?
On the web, it is live now at theironchurch.co.uk, and installs to your home screen. On iPhone, download it or update it from the App Store. Android is in an opt-in beta, and our testers get Reborn very soon.
How much does Iron Church cost?
It is free to start. A free account gets five AI plans and rites from Brodin in all, five movement swaps a day and two campaign blocks toward a date, and the Forge, logging, your records and your muscle map are always free. Premium is £7.99 a month or £79.99 a year on the web: Brodin writes your plans and rites past the free five, you can swap movements up to 30 times an hour, and you can plan more campaign blocks. On iPhone, the App Store shows the price in your currency before you pay.
A coach for every disciple.
