Update:

I now use slightly different equipment, main change being a proper running watch and Freerunning shoes, and since the new year I am not gymming - just running as I have the Reading half marathon in April.

We shall see if I can keep losing the weight!

Update:

My first watch stopped syncing and I had it replaced. I later realised that this was due to a faulty Nike software update on my PC and not the watches fault at all...

Still, my new one is nice!

Recently the watch firmware updated and now you have an (gentile) Alarm and Stopwatch in the menus. You can also reverse the screen so that the text is in black.

I started running with it this year and continue to be very happy. I am now using Nike +2 Freerun shoes with the hole in for the sensor and they work fine.

However, the bad news is that the Nike plus website remains a travesty. Until that is fixed (promised "soon") then I cannot recommend this product "set" over the latest Garmins. If you want to run hightech and have the money, get the Garmin. If you have a lesser budget, don't really care for statistics and like Nike's style - get the Nike watch or wait it out for the next generation.

[...] I had a great time that day and every now and then watch this film to reflect on it. Drunken days like this are certainly not my norm! Just before the video kicks off and we are shown in a bar is the moment that I came face to fangs with the worlds largest spider, which you read about here: http://www.outsidecontext.com/2009/11/23/bashos-5-amazing-spider-encounters/ [...]
