Time To Get ‘Old Pain­less’ Out Of The Bag, ori­gin­ally uploaded by James & Cesca.

While vis­it­ing the War Rem­nants Museum in Sai­gon we came across this
stick­ing out of an ex-US helicopter.

The museum exper­i­ence was dis­turb­ing in the extreme with much evid­ence
of US attro­cit­ies and unpun­ished illegal murders of civil­ians. Still,
hav­ing had US pro­poganda fed to us through Hol­ly­wood for our entire
lives, it was nice to redress the balance.

Parts were hard to watch sure, but we also got a sense of national
pride from the Viet­namese that was very mov­ing. They are very proud of
finally being inde­pend­ent from all those who would con­trol their
future. Those days are now gone, how they deal with join­ing in with
the ‘west­ern world’ in 2009 is any­ones guess.

So far we really like it here.
