Today my poor wife had to go into work. On a Sunday too! So I declared the day to be: Starwars Day!
My day started with breakfast and some Jedi duelling in Starwars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. This game has a brilliant map called “ladder”, which is an increasingly difficult battle against Dark Jedi who get harder and harder and eventually gain the ability to become invisible!

This was followed by a long hard play of Empire at War. This game is due out any week now and I spent an hour downloading the Demo. I have to say, it is very good and I will definitely be buying this one when it comes out. It reminds me of the old Supremacy game on the Amiga mixed with Command and Conquer. I do have some issues with some of the RTS balance but the premise is excellent and the Starwars catalogue has needed a new and interesting game like this for ages.

Finally, I rounded off the day (and much of the night) playing the brilliant Knights of the Old Republic. I love this game, which has some of the best lines and finely drawn characters I have ever found in a game. A real D20 rule set integrated with a very interesting and deep quest structure. I played this to the wee small hours!

Much fun!
It is by reinforcing the positive in the Starwars canon that it can survive. We need to play, watch, and read the good stuff and leave the mishmashed dross for the lemmings.
Have YOU had your Jedi fix today?
