PSP Stuff

This is a quick post as a reminder for myself and for a few others I may point here.

To read books on your psp do as follows:
Open the book as a text file in Word or Write. Then save the book as a webpage. Connect your PSP via USB cable and copy the webpage and any folders to a place on your PSP DUO card. Then in the PSP Web Browser select file, then Address Entry. Start the address with file:/ then the exact path to your text. E.G. file:/books/dsd64k.htm. Job done! This is basic reading with no fancy chapter stuff you dont add to the web page in Word.

How to encode your own movies. To do this download the excellent program PSP video (currently version 9). Encode the file from your PC hardrive and copy to the PSP via the software. To copy a DVD you will need the copyright (duh) and a program that will rip DVD files to your PC.

How to use the WiFi. Firstly buy and setup a ADSL WIFI Router for about £80. Then turn off the DCHP in the Routers settings. Go to the PSP Networking settings and manually assign an IP address to the PSP. Also set the gateway to the routers IP address. I left WEP off, but it does works with it. Remember the WIFI is a little flakey.
