Thank god.

This is Tony’s face when he found out:
Tony Lost

I am glad. 90 days is stupid. 28 days is better. Imagine this. I have met people who have carried (loud but harmless) flashbang grenades on the tube in their gun bags whilst on their way to their airsoft club.

Now, under the 90 days rule, if they were searched they could be locked up without charge as a terrorist, without access to a lawyer, without access to a phone for 90 fucking days. The entire time that they are detained, the police would grind their life into the dust. Hell to that.

Now, don’t get me wrong, carrying flashbangs on the tube to an event (even though it is legal) is stupid and morally wrong. It is asking for trouble. But being locked up for 90 days without charge is worse.

I support anti-terror, but this is not america and we are not afraid. 28 days is more than enough. I don’t trust our police enough to give them 90 days. We have to realise that it is freedom of everyone that we are fighting for. This is a fine balancing act and Tony is making no attempt to balance, he is only doing what the police want.

If the police had their way, we would all have to sit at home in silence with our hands on the table where everyone could see them. The police have their job to do, and they don’t need an entire 90 days to do it.
