I’m in the club as far as MS goes and today received my copy of Longhorn (review coming) and IE7. Is it any good?
In one word: Crap.
Well, not that crap. New toys include tabbed browsing, spam/phising blocker, auto find feed, research tab with language translation and discussions with other people viewing the page. However, it STILL doesn’t render my page according to the actual standards. In other words, its window dressing and not content. This shouldn’t be IE7, rather it is IE 6.6.
Please, please fix the standards stuff Microsoft! I cannot continue to use a browser that doesn’t adhere to the correct standards!
Also it won’t display scriptlets. Fine, they were a security hole, but I happened to use one. Damn… more development!
Here’s hoping they are working on it. But given the debacle with MSN Mapppoint (Link to article on mappoint errors - funny) I don’t think this will be troubling Firefox any time soon.
