Shot by some crazy Japan­ese research­ers. The giant squid is second largest squid spe­cies in the world and no body had ever pho­to­graphed one before. This is a sci­entific achieve­ment akin to get­ting a shot of big foot!

The giant squid was pho­to­graphed 2,050 feet (900 meters) beneath the North Pacific Ocean in Japan­ese waters, where sci­ent­ists attrac­ted it toward cam­eras on a baited fish­ing line.

The animal—which meas­ures roughly 25 feet (8 meters) long—was pho­to­graphed 2,950 feet (900 meters) beneath the North Pacific Ocean. Japan­ese sci­ent­ists attrac­ted the squid toward cam­eras attached to a baited fish­ing line.
